Therapy in Gainesville, FL

Welcome to Wolcott Counseling

Most clients come to us because of personal issues they can’t seem to resolve. They may have anxiety, depression, relationship pain, unhealed trauma, or they feel disappointed about how their life is unfolding.

Others might be struggling with identity, religious trauma, new parenthood roles, or the feeling that they have no community. Many also suffer from a distorted view of themselves, unsure of how to make a meaningful change in their lives. They may not even believe that they deserve happiness to begin with. If you are going through something similar, therapy can make all the difference.

 We offer

Therapy Services We Offer

Wolcott Counseling is committed to providing a safe space for clients to explore identity, heal trauma, and grow. We welcome and affirm people of all ages, backgrounds, professions, gender identities, or gender expressions. Additionally, our sessions can be tailored for children, adults, couples, entire families, and more. Telehealth therapy is available in California and Maine, while Florida residents can choose between in-person or telehealth appointments.

Services

Individual Counseling

Individual therapy is a journey you take with a skilled and compassionate therapist to gain crucial insight, experience support, and reduce emotional and physical symptoms. Our mental health advocates will help you heal and nurture the most important and longest relationship you will ever have: your relationship with yourself.

Services

Group Therapy

We function in groups as a society, yet there are often unspoken rules about connection and communication that confuse and hurt us. Group therapy is a safe place to get authentic feedback and learn how you’re perceived by others, how you interact with others, and how to develop communication skills that help your relationships.

Services

Couples Counseling

Despite its importance, many of us were taught very little about what it takes to help a relationship thrive. Couples therapy is a safe place to examine conflict, disappointment, and personal needs while developing communication and listening skills that allow you and your partner to hear and be heard. Great relationships require work, but the investment is worth it!

Services

Supervision

Lisa Wolcott is a Florida-qualified supervisor for registered social work interns and mental health counselor interns. If you are interested in hiring her for supervision toward licensure, please reach out through our contact form. Begin the next step in your career today!

Services

Consulting & Education

We are here to offer our expertise on a variety of diverse topics. These include building a private practice business, the benefits of group therapy, IFS therapy, polyamory, OCD treatment, navigating narcissism and sociopathy, dating violence,  intimate partner violence, and stalking, ways to leave a dangerous relationship, and the psychosocial aspects of chronic illnesses and solid organ transplant.
